The Old Parliament House is a national icon with great historical significance. The building served as the home of the Federal Parliament between 1927 and 1988 and is now home to the Museum of Australian Democracy.
HBS Group were contracted to undertake a comprehensive condition audit of all the external timber windows, report on the need for any repairs and complete the repair works as required.
HIGHLIGHTS/SCOPE OF WORKS:
- Timber (stained and painted) joinery audit and remediation report issued for client review.
- Dilapidation report detailing the existing condition of the South East Wing Courtyard, North West Wing, South West Wing, South Elevation – dining catering and function areas, Senate Courtyard, House of Reps Courtyard, South East Wing and House of Reps issued for client review.
- Scaffold and mobile access provided.
- Remediation and replacement carpentry and cleaning works.
- Removal of lead paint and painting works.
- Restoration of timber Heritage windows and associated hardware.
