Occupying state buildings dating from the mid 19th-century, COMO The Treasury is now a 48-room contemporary luxury hotel in Perth’s newly revitalised historic heart.
HIGHLIGHTS/SCOPE OF WORKS:
- Designed and constructed a detailed encapsulation. A guttering system installed on the scaffold to catch contaminated water and debris run-off during paint removal from all brick and rendered surfaces.
- HBS Group then treated the highly contaminated waste water, separating the solids from the cleaned liquids.
- This was achieved by catching the water run-off from the guttering system and storing it in tanks located on the ground level. From these tanks the water was pumped into a hopper tank.
- In the hopper tank we flocculated the water with water-treatment and cleaning chemicals, with the solid waste material of old paint and chemicals gathering at the bottom. The solid waste was then removed and stored in filter bags, which were then disposed of via hazardous materials collection to the EPA’s requirements. The cleaned water was then reused in the paint-stripping process.
- Removed and replaced drummy render across façades.
- Brick masonry demolished to create new openings for steel and glass assembly.
